Jenna Suffern: The 10 funniest things I’ve ever seen (on the internet)

TThe internet is my favorite place in the world. It has always held a special place in my heart, from when I convinced a boy at 15 to believe he was actress Alyssa Milano, until now, where I get paid to combine silly words, to form silly sentences, to have them live on the Internet. Only to get trolled by incels (which is fair, since I fished that young incel).

This is a glimpse into my mentally unstable little lesbian brain. I hope you like it.

1. Marnie in Girls Who Cover Stronger

I think about this moment in television history at least once a week. Sure, the girls have had their problems, but this is perfection. The embarrassment, the trust, the text changes to white Kate Mass because we can only assume that Marnie thought she would be written off for saying black Kate Moss. I love it so much that I’ve been known to sing it at friends’ birthday parties without request.

2. Anything Trixie and Katya but especially UNHhhh episode 29: Halloweenie

AHhhh the show with Drag Race alumni Trixie and Katya is the one I go to when I need a smooth brain. It’s what I go to when I’m depressed. AHhhh is the therapist I’ve never had. Trixie has said time and time again that their audience is depressed lesbians, and honey, she’s not wrong. All I want in life is for a friend to laugh at me the way Katya laughs at Trixie. Because that’s what all friendships about validating your comedy should be about.

3. P!nk flying through the air

A newer one, but I can’t stop laughing at this one. I don’t think it’s P!nks actual performance, but the cinematography of this video, which captures P!nk chaotically screaming I WANT TO START A FIGHT! and then being launched into the air while remaining bone straight. I think the reason it’s so funny is because of its resemblance to that lady who gets flown around and spun 175 times. (Thanks to Beck Shawfor bringing that video into my life.)

4. Totinos with Kristen Stewart

This Saturday Night Live sketch combines two of my favorite things, crappy commercials and lesbian yearning. If I could ever write something as perfect as this sketch, I’d retire, only to announce my return to comedy two months later like all the greats.

5. This hamster

This is my favorite image on the internet but I can’t find it anywhere! Luckily I love it so much, my girlfriend had it printed on coasters a few years ago so I could laugh about it every day. Like what’s she doing in that stupid dress? So stupid.

6. Hello

An old man but a good one. This is the only way to say goodbye. There are so many vines that I mention on a daily basis, but that’s a whole other list of its own.

7. This TikTok

This TikTok should be played in theaters. The simplicity, but the One Direction layers, the Borat accent, the simple wrap. I’ve reviewed it about 100 times and that’s no exaggeration.

8. The time my comedy buddy broke my knee on stage

Look, I know it sounds like I’m self-promoting. What if you were? Sue me. But trust me when I say this is one of the funniest things that has ever happened to me. Like, not at the time, but I saw the play a few weeks later.

This happened in the first five seconds of one of our shows. LMFAO’s Champagne Showers is blasting in the background, I’ve leapt onto the stage and am in the wrong spot in our choreography when my commando comedy partner rolls onto the stage and touches my knee. I ended up breaking my ACL, MCL and meniscus AND chipping the bone a bit. But God, it was fun. Almost as funny as the ER nurse that she’s so confused and asks questions like how did this come from a stand-up comedy show and why was I wearing ripped pants. OH! I answered. It’s a gay cabaret show.

9. Challenge with carbonated water

I honestly thought that everyone with access to the world wide web had seen this, but I recently showed two friends that they hadn’t, and I think it’s important viewing for everyone.

10. Disney’s Real Housewives

The Real Housewives franchise cured my depression, so the sketch comedy based on Real Housewives is my new Lexapro. The way Prince Charming laughs is my whole personality.
